How it all began
"Back in the day.."
Stonefern began life as the 'London Lightbox' back in 2002, formed by Mark Foster, our Senior Art Director and owner. Mark had been working as a designer since the late 90’s. He learnt his craft drafting in architects studios and designing in retail studios as an interior structural architect and signage/graphic designer. He realised within a large studio environment the design process wasn’t tailored effectively to the small to mid sized clients needs. The only way to address this inbalance was to set up his own design studio and do things a little differently. At Stonefern, great design became only half of the client journey...
In 2005 Stonefern opened for business, based in an old stone plinth barn surrounded by ferns, hence our name. Since then Stonefern has been based in London, Canterbury, Sydney and Haslemere whilst working for a wide range of domestic and international clients. In late 2012 the Stonefern studio found a new home in a 16th Century Midhurst Town House, here in the heart of South Downs National Park.
